CAGED WITHIN

The colors fade,

darkness reigns,

as I try to dig deeper,

as I try to build me better,

as I try to tame the monster within.

I fall apart and can't grasp the thread to sanity,

but smile to keep myself serene,

hoping they won't get to see me weak,

hoping it will leave me sane.
