Icyahinda 31
Clouds devoured the moon
My gaze on my impending doom
Complete despair, and helplessness were my blanket in that month.
They extinguished my people's souls with avarice in their eyes
Fueled by mere greed
I saw rivers of blood flow
Apparently Tutsi flesh had a unique taste to it
Infants were breastfeeding on their mother's cut off breasts
Fathers, family protectors were made to watch their families killed
I witnessed it all, they are scars forever imprinted to memory
Till this day, my skin feels like it's peeling off comes April.
My tongue turns numb.
Ndi Ngango wa Udahemuka wa Nyiringango wa Habimana wa Maruhuke wa Sebuzana wa Rutaba wa Ndagano wa Ntera wa Gatenderi
Ndi intore, umusinga w'inzu ya Gatenderi,
Ndi Ingabo ya Nyiringango
Icumu rya Udahemuka
Ninde wampiga, ko mbahiga bose?
Izina ryanyu ntirizazima mpari
