Being the firstborn

is being my father's venting machine

It's having high expectations 

with little appreciation.

It's working overtime

and still not doing enough.

It's the confusion that comes from being yelled

at for doing something and getting the same reaction when you let it be.

It's When speaking up is disrespect

and staying quiet is being undermining

Sometimes it leaves me wondering.

If I'm doing right

If I will ever measure up

If I'm enough.
