You're it

At the park last week two little kids playing tag I'd gone to sit and touch grass hoping it would heal.

It got me thinking,

we always divide ourselves into prey and predator.

Always wanting to be the bird and never the worm.

I realized it today

like all the other bird brains out there,

I am in fact a chaser.

I proudly run after the world

demanding, asking, begging, and pleading

“Give me a little more.”

We, (Yes, I said we)

Never really take the time to appreciate it

Appreciate the knowledge  that the worm knows that it's wanted,

And, doesn't have to wake up early to get caught.

As I watched those little kids play tag

I learned that for all my chasing I want to be chased too

And unsurprisingly so do you.
